Water disruptions
As of this morning, 12 million Texans face water disruptions. Water levels are dangerously low and some plants are unable to treat the water, making it unsafe to drink. Cities are now asking residents to conserve as much water as possible – including to stop running water to keep pipes from freezing.

Need water?
- Natural Grocers stores are providing free filtered water through Feb. 23. Customers need to provide their own jugs or bottles. The first five gallons are free, additional gallons are 25 cents each. Find your closest store HERE.

Frozen Pipes
Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson says frozen pipes will be the “next phase of this crisis.” Here are a few more tips on what to do if you have a pipe burst.
- If you have a major break in your pipes, turn off the water supply to your house as soon as possible to avoid further damage. Community tips on how to turn off your water at home
- You should also contact your insurance agent quickly because many other Texans may be filing claims in the coming days.
- If you live in an apartment, shutting off the main water supply may be out of your control. But be in contact with management.
